NMC and Dubai Press Club sign MoU

The National Media Council (NMC) and Dubai Press Club have signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at enhancing strategic partnership relations and joint cooperation in order to achieve federal government strategy and the two sides' keenness to achieve the public interest in the media field.

Ibrahim Al Abed, Director-General of the National Media Council, and Mona Bu Samra, Director of the Dubai Press Club, signed the MoU at the headquarters of the Dubai Press Club.

Signing the MoU comes within the framework of achieving the concept of institutional partnership between various institutions and bodies that seek to develop and serve the community. The NMC, in the light of its strategy, thrives to build partnership ties and exchange of experiences and interests with other institutions, where Dubai Press Club aims to ensure the necessary support for media work in the country and encourage national media resources.

Under the MoU, the NMC will coordinate with agencies and media institutions in the country to participate in specialised programmes or workshops for staff in the media field which would be organised by the Dubai Press Club.

It also aims to cooperate and support forums, conferences and events organised by the club, whereas the club will collaborate with the NMC to organise and implement training courses for workers in the media field.

The MoU also aims to rally efforts between the two sides so as to achieve their joint objectives and mutual interests through outlining partnership ties, in particular in training, forums and media conferences, and the exchange of knowledge and institutional expertise and experiences between the two sides at all levels.

Al Abed expressed his pleasure at the continuous cooperation between the NMC and the Club, hailing the role being played by the club.

He added that inking the MoU is a documentation for the existing collaboration between the two sides, pointing out the NMC's keenness to achieve its goals, which aim to develop media work and promote and support media initiatives in the country.

Mona Bu Samra affirmed the importance of co-operating with the NMC in order to promote media work, pointing out that the MoU would contribute to developing the level of provided services, through exchanging information and expertise between the two sides in order to unify efforts to cope with the rapid developments in the media field.
