No Disneyland plan for Dubai yet

Amusement theme park Disneyland has no plans to replicate its theme park in Dubai, said a senior company official.

Julian Munoz, Director of Marketing & Sales, said he held talks with officials but there is no such development on this issue. “We have been here for the past few days and held talks with officials. But there is no plan as yet; but who knows what happens in future,” Munoz said in a recent interview.

He said the group’s ongoing project in Shanghai is on track and will be completed on schedule.

Munoz was touring the region to reveal promotional packages for the Gulf Arab region to market its 20th anniversary of Disneyland Paris this year.

The package offers three nights stay plus one night free with children under the age of 12 to get free stay.

This promotion will run from April 1 till September this year.

Disneyland Paris now includes a total of 57 attractions, 62 shops and 58 restaurants. Guests can stay at the heart of the magic in one of the seven Disney hotels – with total capacity of 5,800 rooms. Disneyland Paris is one of the largest entertainment centres in Ile-de-France, featuring Disney Village, two conference centres and a 27-hole golf course.

Last year, Dubai-based Al Tayer Travel was named distributor of Disneyland Paris in the Gulf Cooperation Council region (GCC).

Manu Mehrotra, General Manager of Al Tayer Travel, expects a lot of interest from the Gulf residents this year mainly due to a number of new attractions, Disney magic parade and special nighttime shows.

Mehrotra said summer times are the peak seasons when the Gulf residents fly out to Europe and this package will offer them a good opportunity to spend good time with their families at the world’s best entertainment place.
