One in 10 UAE residents spend up to Dh60,000 a year on beauty products

New figures have revealed a real passion for beauty products amongst UAE residents, with one in ten spending an impressive Dh60,000 a year on cosmetics – the equivalent of a small car.

Commissioned by dmg events Middle East as it gears up for the December launch of the region’s largest consumer lifestyle event – The Life & Style Show UAE – the survey provides unique insight into the attitudes of UAE residents towards this burgeoning sector as well as personal expenditure levels.

It also comes at a time when the UAE’s beauty industry is booming, with the country’s cosmetics market predicted to reach $140 million by 2014.

The findings also highlight how important staying on trend is for UAE residents, with 23 per cent of those surveyed admitting to buying a new item of clothing every month.

Taking place on December 5 2013 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Centre (Adnec), The Life & Style Show UAE will comprise of seven individual events, including one specific to Fashion & Beauty.

The Fashion & Beauty Show will sit alongside Speed & Power, Home & Living, Gizmos, Gadgets & Tech, Sport & Leisure, Hobbies & Games and Luxury Property & Build.

Visitors to The Life & Style Show UAE will be able to access the seven individual events, including the feature areas, via one ticket.

“The Life & Style Show UAE will be the biggest consumer lifestyle show the UAE has ever seen with over 51,000 visitors expected across the three days,” said Ashley Roberts, Event Director, dmg events Middle East.
