Partly cloudy weather in parts of UAE

Published

Friday's weather forecast: Partly cloudy weather at times, with a chance of some towering clouds over the eastern areas may extend over some internal, especially western areas. Light to moderate winds in general, freshening at times. Sea will be rough over Arabian Gulf becoming moderate by afternoon and slight to moderate over Oman Sea. The relative humidity is likely to increase during night and early morning on Saturday over some coastal and internal areas, with a probability of mist formation westwards.

EARLIER:

As the ‘season’ officially opens this weekend with several outdoor events planned across the UAE, the country’s weather forecaster may just have rained on the upcoming parade, reporting light showers and a spike in humidity from Thursday.

Even as the popular Sandance beach party returns with the likes of Rudimental and Empire of the Sun inviting everyone back on the sand, the country’s National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) has reported possible rain on Friday, along with early morning fog formation due to the increased humidity.

Speaking to Emirates 24|7, a spokesperson with NCMS said: “It will continue to be relatively hot during the days, with the temperatures peaking in early 40s over the weekend. The increase in humidity along the coast will also give rise to mist or fog in the early morning hours, especially over the Western Region.”

The weather, which the NCMS stated was “normal” or mid-October, will also see a rise of convective clouds over the Eastern terrain, which will shift inland towards the western parts on Friday, bringing light showers that could stretch to Liwa and provide possible relief to the soaring temperatures.

What’s the good news, you ask?

“Things will turn relatively cold at night, especially near Al Rakhnah, on the outskirts of Al Ain, which is a great spot to consider for those thinking of camping over the weekend,” the NCMS spokesperson further added.

The Mercury could dip down to 20° Celsius, the NCMS revealed.

Meanwhile, those heading out to sea will be happy to note that Thursday’s warning of rough seas in the Arabian Gulf would have lifted by Friday; albeit the Oman Sea will remain moderate to calm.

The weather pattern will continue to Saturday.
