An Air India Express passenger travelling from Sharjah to the South Indian city of Kochi on September 19 has alleged that on arrival at the destination gold ornaments she had stored in her baggage were missing.

Strangely, the bag was in excellent condition with no external damage and even the lock was in place.

Aneela Xavier, who had just one check-in baggage (number XH 427890) said: "I got my baggage in good condition without any damage to its lock. The baggage arrived through the conveyer belt without any notable delay. When I opened my bag at home, I found all the four ornament boxes fully opened on top of other items inside the bag and all the ornaments were gone.”

She claims to have carried four boxes that contained a 52-gram chain with a green stone pendant; two gold bangles of eight grams each; a bracelet weighing eight grams; four set of earrings weighing a total 32 grams; another pair of 12 grams; and two chains of 24 grams.

She says she checked into the airline at 11.40 UAE time and took the flight that left the UAE at 13.35hrs.

The baggage is made of canvas fabric with zip opening and lock.

She is willing to bring back the bag with the contents untouched if it will help solve the case.
