The Dubai Police is urging residents to step up and use their updated app – which includes the ‘Police Eye’ section – to report suspicious activities in their area.

The app was recently updated, both on the android and iPhone, informed an official at the Dubai Police stand at the backdrop of Dubai International Government Achievements Exhibition (DIGAE).

The official highlighted how the app “allows residents to report suspicious activities that are not wanted by the community”.

It focuses on 10 scenarios – “Disturbance (in case your neighbour is throwing a party that’s turning into a nuisance), Alcohol/Drugs, Suspicious Vehicle, Suspicious Sale, Gambling, Vandalism, Prostitution, Begging and None of the these”.

The informer, he added, can choose to relay his identity or keep it anonymous. “Unless it is a big case, no one will disturb you,” he added.

“It’s still growing, and we need to spread awareness, and encourage more people to use this app,” he said, adding how they are promoting it through radio and TV channels and conferences.

“The app is now available in seven different languages approved by the UN – Arabic, English, Chinese, French, German and Russian,” he informed.
