Pregnant woman survives 6th floor fall

A pregnant woman was seriously injured after plunging from the sixth floor in a hotel in Ajman but her fetus was killed, a newspaper said on Wednesday.

The 18-year-old woman, who got married three months ago, was standing on the balcony of the hotel when she fell down, the semi official daily Alittihad said.

Doctors at Khalifa hospital in the emirate said the unnamed woman suffered from fractures in several parts of the body but her head was intact.

“She landed on the mezzanine level yesterday…she is in the intensive care unit and imaging showed she lost her baby,” the paper said without mentioning how the woman fell down.
