RAK bakery shut over 'insects in bread'

Ras Al Khaimah authorities shut down a bakery after insects were found in bread sold to a consumer in the emirate.

The Municipality sent its inspectors to a local shop after an Emirati woman complained that she found insects in the bread it bought from that shop.

Tests showed the bread contained dead insects and it was bought from a bakery in the emirate.

“The inspectors visited the bakery and found that it does not comply with health rules. They decided to shut it down until it enforces such rules,” 'Emarat Al Youm' daily said, quoting Shayma Al Tinaiji, head of the public health division.
