Nada Al Bedwawi is back from the Rio Olympics. The 19-year-old Emirati swimmer was given a heart-felt and warm reception by friends and family who all showed up to cheer the first Emirati woman to compete in swimming at the Olympic Games.
Nada took part in the 50-metre freestyle at the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Nada told ‘Emarat Al Youm’: “This is a big surprise and an extraordinary reception from family, friends and the swimming federation.”

“I learned a lot from my experience, especially with regard to swimmers. The 33.42 seconds I swam is the best in my career.”
“I want to be ready for the Tokyo Olympics in 2020,” she said.

“My goal is to be the first Emirati to win an Olympic medal in the pool.”
