Dubai's Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) warned a private school after it permitted students to download inappropriate content from the Apple store, Al Bayan reported.

Students of a school following the American syllabus were given an assignment to read several stories using apps on their devices and write a report on them in English.

However, some stories selected by students had religious content that were deemed inappropriate.

KHDA was made aware of this after a parent filed a complaint regarding the content being used by the school.

KHDA confirmed it has taken firm action against the school based on the complaint.

The school has pledged to ensure stricter rules regarding the content downloaded by children from apps.

The school also confirmed that they will take all necessary measures to ensure that the downloaded stories do not have any content that goes against the UAE customs and traditions in the future.
