A seven-vehicle pile-up has been reported on Al Ain Road, in the direction of Dubai, with motorists reporting traffic gridlock and delays.

According to eyewitnesses, by 9am, police vehicles were already on the scene; however, crushed glass and debris was still littered on the busy road.

K Sridhar told ‘Emirates 24|7’: “There are seven vehicles on the scene of the crash, with all of them pulled up on the hard shoulder. However, despite the vehicles not obstructing traffic, and police on the scene, rubberneckers are slowing down traffic considerably.

“The crash has occurred right before the Nad Al Sheba Exit 7. However, tailbacks are extending all the way towards Dubai Silicon Oasis. People can expect at least 20-minute delays in their commute.”

Meanwhile, another crash has been reported at 8.45am on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, opposite Mirdif City Centre, in the direction of Abu Dhabi, causing congestion and tailbacks on Al Rebaat Street.

An hour earlier, Dubai Police also reported on a crash on Airport Road, near Terminal 3, heading towards Al Khawaneej.

A stalled bus that was earlier causing traffic congestion on Al Maktoum Bridge, towards Deira, has been cleared.
