Sharjah Police nabbed the person who drove off in a Mercedes car that was left with the ignition on in one of the roads in the emirate and returned it safely to its owner.

No sooner than the police received information about the car missing that the robbery crimes department of Sharjah Police set out in action.

The Saudi owner of the car said that he had left his car in front of a hotel in Al Qasimia area and upon returning his vehicle was missing.

The vehicle, he added, had a Saudi number plate.

Shortly afterwards a car accident led the police to the suspect.

While on the run, the Yemini suspect met with an accident and he abandoned the car and fled before the accident was reported to police.

The police team managed to nab the suspect, who will be referred to Public Prosecution.

Sharjah Police once again cautioned motorists not to leave their cars with the ignition on and unattended.
