Sharjah Police arrested an elderly Pakistani national for allegedly stabbing his compatriot over a financial dispute.
Upon receiving an alert about the incident, cops confronted the suspect at his home in Al Nabba area of Sharjah.
However, the suspect, in his sixties, denied hurting the victim.
Explaining to investigating officials, he said that the victim had come to his house to sort out a financial dispute, which led to arguments between the two of them.
That resulted in blows and the victim lost his balance and tripped over an air-conditioning unit, thus injuring himself.
But the victim, who has a gash on his right arm, told cops that the elderly man attacked him with a pair of iron scissors, leaving a cut on his arm.
The suspect has been referred to Public Prosecution.
Police called on residents to settle financial matters amicably.
