Stay at the Burj Khalifa – for Dh7,000 a week

Owners of apartments in world’s tallest tower offering units on short-term rentals

Owners of apartments in Burj Khalifa, the tallest tower in the world, are offering units on short-term rentals with leases starting from Dh7,000 a week.

An advert, put by an owner of a studio and one bedroom apartment in Burj Khalifa, in a local classified and community portal, reads: “We offer a studio and one bedroom (1,150 square feet) fully serviced apartments in the Burj Khalifa for short term stay. These apartments have full view (of) the fountain or the sea. The apartments have spacious reception area, a semi closed kitchen plan, where bed rooms have an on-suite bath, a powder room for the guest.”

It further adds, “You can save up to 80 per cent on your costs by staying with us.”

The number given in the advertisement was not reachable at the time of publishing this report.

Another listing, by an owner on the same website, reads: A 2,053 square feet two-bedroom furnished apartment is available for lease on a weekly rate of Dh12,000 for a period between November 21 and 30. The rates increase to Dh14,000 a week for the period between December 1 and 14 and Dh18,000 a week for the period between December 15 and January 7, 2012.

This website had reported in December 2010 that mydubaistay.com, a Dubai-based company, was offering a one-night stay in a one-bedroom apartment in the Burj Khalifa from Dh1,300 onwards.

Currently, a studio apartment is being leased for Dh80,000 to Dh90,000 per year, one-bed starts from Dh130,000, while two-beds are available from Dh175,000.

Burj Khalifa has 900 studio, one-, two-, three- and four- bedroom apartments, while the Armani Residences has 144 fully furnished private apartments.

Very good offer but as an Indian middle class, I can't afford to stay in Burj khalifa. It is very costly.
