Three accidents spark traffic jams across UAE; two vehicles flip over

A gruesome sight was visible to early morning commuters in Dubai, as two trucks have reportedly flipped over in the midst of Sheikh Zayed Road.

While it is unclear if anyone in the accident is seriously injured, Dubai Police confirmed the incident, saying: “An accident has been reported on Sheikh Zayed Road, before Trade Centre tunnel towards Al Garhod Bridge.”

Robert Zikry, who posted an image on twitter, said: “A big accident with two flipped trucks near the Trade Centre tunnel on Sheikh Zayed Road.”

One of the vehicles is a white truck with an Abu Dhabi registration.

Morning commuters can expect heavy delays at the site, even as another accident has been reported near Wafi Mall.

Dubai Police tweeted: “An accident has been reported on Oud Metha road opposite Latifa Hospital toward Wafi Bridge.”

Even as Abu Dhabi is not exempt from jams this morning, with the capital’s police tweeting of heavy delays.

The authority tweeted from its official account: “Traffic congestion and delays after Musaffah Bridge, inbound Abu Dhabi.”

Abu Dhabi Traffic twitter handle reported of an accident being the cause of the delays, which said: “Accident inbound after Mussafah Bridge has been cleared. Expect further delays inbound.”
