Soon you'll sail through UAE airports

The UAE is planning to ease the movement of passengers at its airports to ensure smooth flow of individuals and goods, according to Dubai's police chief.

Major General Khamis Al Mazeina said the plan is part of measures recommended by the supreme security committee set up by Lt General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, to remove entry-exit restrictions ahead of the 2020 World Expo in Dubai, the region's commercial hub.

He told reporters on Tuesday after signing a cooperation deal with Dubai’s Civil Aviation Authority that Dubai and other emirates have already taken measures to facilitate the entry of tourists and other visitors to the second largest Arab economy.

“The competent authorities are now studying further procedures to ease the movement of passengers at all airports in the country,” he said.

“We went to ensure such measures are easier and more transparent and are free of any bureaucratic red tape with the aim of hastening entry and exit procedures.”
