Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of International Cooperation and Development (MICAD) and Head of the UAE Committee for Coordination of Humanitarian Foreign Aid, said the wise leadership of the UAE, led by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan; and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai; and  General Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, support efforts made by international community to eradicate chronic and communicable diseases and epidemics.

Commenting on the announcement by the UAE Pakistan Assistance Programme (UAE-PAP) that it immunised 44 million children in Pakistan with polio vaccines in the first three months of 2015, Sheikha Lubna said the UAE's health campaign reflected its tireless efforts to eradicate polio in countries plagued badly by the life-threatening disease, particularly in Pakistan.

The campaign is part of the Emirates Polio Campaign launched under the directives of Sheikh Khalifa on an initiative by General Mohamed bin Zayed.

The minister hailed the honourable role being played by the UAE-PAP's work team to deliver vaccines to the targeted children.
