The Ministry of Health (MoH) has issued a circular warning against the use of the unregistered product "Achieving Zero," which is being sold on a website as a dietary supplement to lose weight, saying it contains hidden toxic chemicals that may threaten lives of users.

Dr. Amin Hussein Al Amiri, Assistant Undersecretary of the MoH for Public Health Policies and Licensing, Chairman the Higher Pharmaceutical Vigilance Committee, said the ministry has received a warning from the American Food and Drug Administration not to use this product because it contains hidden ingredients that could increase blood pressure and heart beats in some patients, and pose a significant risk for patients with heart disease or stroke.

He warned about the spread of commercial websites that do not shy away from promoting certain medical and health products for financial gain, especially dietary supplements, cosmetics, weight control, slimming, sexual tonics and others.

The MoH also issued another circular banning use of a number of dietary supplements for weight loss manufactured by Novacare Pharmaceuticals because they contain toxic chemicals.
