The State Security Division at the Federal Supreme Court, presided over by Judge Al Hajiri, on Monday sentenced M.Kh.M., a national of an Arab country, to five years in prison for perpetrating a hostile act against a foreign state and other charges. The court ordered that he be deported after serving his sentence and that the materials seized with him be confiscated.

The charges against the defendant also included using fake documents to import a voice analyser and military grade electronic chips that are of help in launching military ammunition and contain electric circuits. The defendant, using the forged documents, claimed that he had imported the devices for two government entities in the UAE. He then re-exported the gadget to his home country without obtaining a licence from the UAE Committee on Commodities Subject to Import and Export Control.

In another case, the State Security Division at the Federal Supreme Court sentenced Emirati citizen, A.N.A., who was present in court,  to 10 years in prison on charges of creating and running a social media account to promote terrorist groups and to mock and damage the reputation and dignity of the state's institutions.

Meanwhile, the Security Division has received the medical report called for in the case of the individual dubbed by the media as the 'Reem Ghost'. The report revealed that A.B.A. was aware of and responsible for her actions.

The Court heard the pleadings of the Public Prosecution who asked for the maximum available sentence for the defendant.

The Court adjourned the case to a session on June 8 to hear the defence.
