Private sector to work six hours

Normal working hours for the private sector during Ramadan this year in the UAE will be reduced by two hours.

This will cover all private sector institutions in the state during the month of Ramadan for the year 1437 Hijri, (2016), without the remuneration of workers being affected.

Ramadan Timings: UAE announces 5-hour shifts

This was stated in a circular issued by Saqr Ghobash, Minister of Human Resources and Resettlement, on working hours for the private sector during Ramadan, in implementation of the provisions of Article 65 of the Federal Law No. 8 of 1980.

Ghobash thanked UA President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Their Highnesses, Rulers of the Emirates on this occasion.
