UAE signs contracts worth Dh4bn at Idex

The UAE has signed defence contracts worth Dh4 billion on the second day of the 10th International Defence Conference and Exhibition (Idex 2011), Idex Spokesperson Major General Obaid Al Ketbi announced on Monday.

“Abu Dhabi Aircraft Technologies Company won a contract valued at Dh993.5 million for arming and upgrading 23 Black Hawk UH 60 M,” Al Ketbi said.

Two contracts worth Dh853.6 million were given to local Emirates Response Service and Britain's Assetco for delivery of fire-fighting and manpower services, fire engines and preparation and maintenance of facilities.

Local Maximus bagged a contract worth Dh551 million for delivery of air cargo services to the UAE Armed Forces.

Abu Dhabi Aviation Company was contracted to purchase four VIP AW130 aircrafts at Dh336.7 million.

UAE's IGG was awarded a Dh230.9 million contract for supply of 30 MK-47 launchers (40mm).

Another major deal of Dh252 million was signed with Booz and Company for the joint logistics programme.
