UAE to charge insurance firms for treating beneficiaries

Minister of Health Abdul Rahman Mohammed Al Owais has approved a resolution pertaining to charging insurance companies or underwriters, for healthcare services provided to their beneficiaries at the ministry's emergency sections.

The resolution states that healthcare services shall be provided at the ministry's emergency units to the beneficiaries who hold insurance policies, with their insurance companies paying for the cost of services.

It also stipulates that the insurance company shall be notified within 24 hours of the service provided to the beneficiary and a claim shall be issued covering all services provided to the beneficiary.
