For parents who can’t stop complaining about lack of places for their wards in UAE schools, here’s some good news. Dubai-based GEMS Education is set to open ten new schools in the UAE across different curricula and fees levels over the next two years, the company said in a media statement today.

“GEMS Education has announced plans to open ten new schools in the UAE over the next two years to meet growing demand and the quality targets set by the local authorities within the UAE,” it said, adding that the “schools will have British, Indian, International Baccalaureate, American and dual curriculums and will include a range of different fee levels.”

GEMS is already the country’s largest education provider, and provides schooling to over 110,000 students from over 150 countries, and employs over 10,000 education professionals, specialists and staff from around the world. The company said that it will also establish a Leadership Academy and Teacher Training Centre in Dubai.

“With continued global demand for quality education, GEMS Education is implementing a long-term growth strategy. This will involve the expansion of capacity across all our curricula and price points in the UAE, an increased focus on new schools and partnerships across the GCC and expansion globally in those markets with very positive underlying demand dynamics for a broad range of private education models,” said Dino Varkey, Executive Director of GEMS Education.

“The schools will provide brilliant learning environments that spark excitement, inspire curiosity and motivate students to achieve beyond their expectations,” added Margaret Atack, Group Senior Director of GEMS Education.
