UAE warns citizens not to travel to Lebanon

Difficult and sensitive political circumstances cited

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the UAE has warned citizens not to travel to Lebanon at this time unless necessary.

According to the ministry's Under Secretary Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Butti Al Hamed, the warning against traveling to Lebanon comes as the New Year holidays are approaching and as a result of the "difficult and sensitive political circumstances in the sisterly Lebanon”.

He urged the citizens to comply with this warning until further notice and to be cautious when traveling outside the country.

The citizens were also advised citizens traveling overseas carefully read the travel advice page at the ministry's website and to enroll in the Tawjdi (my whereabouts) service for the UAE citizens.
