While the mercury inches its way down taking until the middle of September to really cool the UAE, it is the relative humidity that is going to be of concern for residents.

However, the humidity is likely to increase – hitting 95 per cent - according to an official from the National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS).

“There could be some light showers over the eastern areas today and tomorrow,” he said.

According to the latest weather forecast, temperatures across the country will continue to hover around 40°C until September 15 – down from last month’s 47°C to 50°C.

A slight increase in cloud cover is also likely.

“You can see a significant drop in temperatures by the second week of September. The summer will officially end by then,” the official said, adding, “The temperature has dropped by three to four degrees compared to July and we will see a similar drop by mid-September.”
