The National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) forecast turned up the heat, inching towards the 50 degrees C mark.

The forecast heading into the weekend was hot weather in general during the daytime, and partly cloudy eastwards, with a chance of some towering clouds over the mountainous areas by afternoon.

Light to moderate winds in general, freshening at times by afternoon over some western areas causing blowing dust.
The relative humidity is also likely to increase during night and tomorrow early morning over some coastal and internal areas, especially the northern, with a chance of mist/fog formation.

On Tuesday, the NCMS warned motorists and road users of low horizontal visibility due to dust blown by wind in some areas of the country.

In a statement, the centre has warned road users to exercise caution and abide by traffic rules during these periods of low visibility.

Minimum temperatures will not drop below 33 deg C, though further inland nights could see temperatures as low as 23 deg C.
