Uncle rapes nephews with mom’s knowledge

A man raped three nephews many times at his home in the eastern oasis town of Al Ain, prompting a court to strip their mother of their custody for knowing of the crime and failing to protect them, a newspaper reported on Sunday.

The mother had even threatened her children against telling their father of the rape and this encouraged the uncle to continue his crime against them almost every time she visited her father’s house, Emirat Alyoum said.

After the woman was divorced from her husband, although they have eight children aged below 10 years, she moved to her father’s house.

“They were raped again many times…but after the divorce, they managed to tell their father about the rape,” the paper said without identifying the couple.

It said medical examination results submitted to court showed three boys had systematically been raped although they were with their mother.

The court of cassation overturned previous sentences and stripped the mother of custody of six children except two aged below two years on the grounds they need to be with their mother at his age, the paper said.

The paper said the court also ordered the father to pay his ex-wife Dh4,000 monthly rent and Dh1,000 a month for each child under her custody although she had demanded custody for all children, high rent, furniture allowance, two maids, a car and a driver.
