Walk the walk for Autism with Malayalam star Kunchako Bobban

In a bid to mark World Autism Awareness Day (which falls on April 2 every year), Malayalam movie star Kunchako Bobban will lead a walkathon in Sharjah Corinche at 5pm on Thursday.

The actor, who is a goodwill ambassador of Al Fasht Medical Centre in Sharjah’s Al Nahda, is passionate about working towards spreading awareness about Autism.

It’s interesting that his wedding anniversary also falls on the same day. Talking to Emirates24|7 earlier, he said, “Honestly, I didn't even know that my wedding date coincided with the World Autism day, until last year, when we celebrated the day with children at Kusumagiri hospital in Kerala.”

The event was a changing point for the star and his wife Priya Ann Samuel. “It was one of the happiest days of my life, and it was a joy to perform with the children. After the event was telecast on numerous television channels, I had parents of those children ‘call and thank me’. That’s when I realised what they must be going through, and how I can bring about change.”

The ‘Walk a mile for Autism’ will commence at 5pm in Sharjah Corniche (opposite Crystal Plaza).
