Woman caught drink driving seeks mercy

A woman from another Gulf country caught drink-driving in Abu Dhabi and causing a road accident pleaded guilty in court and asked for mercy.

The woman was arrested for driving recklessly on busy roads in the emirate and causing collision between four vehicles.

Tests showed she was drunk while she was driving her car and she confessed to having alcohol.

“The woman confessed in court and asked for mercy. She also asked for a reduction in fines,” the Dubai-based daily 'Al Bayan' said, adding that the judge postponed session for sentence to October 3.

The paper said three others were also on trial in Abu Dhabi for drinking and driving.
