A vehicle has reportedly caught fire at the Dubai Trade Centre Roundabout, causing partial closure of the major junction, as fire fighters tackle the blaze.
Dubai Police confirmed the same on its official Twitter account at 8.50am: “Fire vehicle accident in Dubai Trade Centre roundabout.”
A Civil Defence vehicle, along with the police, ambulance and a tow truck is already on the scene as the situation is being brought under control.
Tailbacks are already being reported on the scene, with eye witnesses reporting traffic jams and warning commuters to use alternate routes.
No cause is yet evident for the fire.
This is the second incident reported this morning, with an earlier accident reported on Sheikh Zayed Road, opposite of Jebel Ali port towards Abu Dhabi, which has been cleared since.
