Army, police chiefs greet Mohammed

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has received greetings on the occasion of Ramadan from commanders and senior officers of the UAE Armed Forces, police and security agencies.

At the meeting in Zabeel Palace, also attended by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman, Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, the army and police commanders wished Sheikh Mohammed good health and happiness and prayed to the Almighty Allah and also wished the UAE and its people enjoy further progress, security and stability under the generous leadership.

As he reciprocated best Ramadan wishes to the leaders of the army and police, Sheikh Mohammed wished the gallant armed, police and security apparatuses all success in discharging their duties and tasks of achieving national higher interests and upgrading the performance of police and security forces to international standards so as to protect the security, sovereignty and independence of the nation.

Sheikh Mohammed viewed economic, developmental and security problems as challenges and said "we should address them with resolve and persistence and have faith in Allah and believe in our self-abilities so that we can overcome such possible problems".

''We built our state with the efforts of our founding fathers, their love for their people, belief in the unity of the loyal Emirati people and through dedication of all available resources to provide the sons and daughters of the UAE with education, training and acquisition of knowledge and expertise and we help Emirati citizens contribute with high efficiency towards nation building.''

''Whatever the state has from its abundant financial resources, high-rise buildings and vast areas, it will never survive without sacrifices and contributions of its sons and daughters.

“The nation needs the energy, hands and minds of its citizens in every location, every time and at every place,'' Sheikh Mohammed emphasised, expressing his confidence in the wise leadership and faithfulness of the UAE people and their unequivocal loyalty to their homeland. In this context, he cited a well-known proverb: ''A nation that you don't protect, you don't deserve to live in.''

Sheikh Mohammed hosted an iftar banquet for his guests.
