AWA Lifetime Award for Sheikha Hind

Wife of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikha Hind Bint Maktoum Bin Juma Al Maktoum has been awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Arab Women Award (AWA), in recognition of her efforts in supporting women, social work and community service.

Commenting on the occasion, Sheikha Hind asserted that the various achievements of Emirati women, including social work and community service, are the outcome of the unlimited government support and the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Vice-President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

She added that the leadership empowered woman and eliminated any challenges hindering her from carrying her responsibilities as a mother and an equal partner in development. She called Emirati and Arab women to pursue success and excellence in all aspects of life and play proactive roles in the development and prosperity of their nations.

Sheikha Hind assured that social work is an obligation and reflects ethics and commitment. She concluded that social work mirrors the community’s ability to overcome challenges and provide a vehicle for development and advancement.

On behalf of Sheikha Hind, the award was received by Fatemah Ahmed Al Moosa, Member of the Board of Dubai Women’s Association, at a ceremony held at St Regis Saadiyat Island under the patronage of Minister of Culture, Youth, and Community Development Sheikh Nahayan bin Mubarak Al Nahayan.

Fifteen inspirational women were celebrated during the event hosted by Arab Woman Awards, and more than 400 female VIP guests attended the red carpet event.

Established in 2009 by ITP, Arab Woman Award celebrates inspirational women in various disciplines, including public service, charity, entrepreneurship, art, media and other activities. The awards runs annually in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Qatar.
