Emirates Appreciation Award approved

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Sunday chaired a meeting of the UAE Cabinet at the Presidential Palace in Abu Dhabi.

The meeting was held with the attendance of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Lt General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Presidential Affairs Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The cabinet approved the establishment of the Emirates Appreciation Award to motivate and honour UAE nationals for their efforts in serving their country. The prize also seeks to promote excellence in all fields, while highlighting the growing role that citizens play in the country's development process.

After approving the establishment of a Federal Court of First Instance in Dibba Al Hosn in the emirate of Sharjah, the cabinet ratified an agreement signed between the UAE and Russia concerning visa exemptions for holders of diplomatic passports. The council of ministers also endorsed a number of aviation agreements signed between the UAE and Mauritania, Portugal and Ukraine respectively.

Concluding the meeting, the cabinet approved a procedural manual drafted to assist with the signing of agreements and international memoranda of understanding.
