Gen. Mohamed, Emir of Qatar hold talks

General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, has discussed with His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Qatar, ways to strengthen relations between the two countries, the latest regional developments and a number of issues of mutual interest.
 
This came on Monday when the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi received the Emir of Qatar, who is currently paying a visit to the UAE.
 
During the meeting, Sheikh Mohamed welcomed Sheikh Tamim, saying, "This visit reflects the depth of brotherly links between the two countries, which boost the GCC work towards more cohesive action that addresses the higher national interests of the GCC."
 
They also tackled ways to enhance cooperation in line with the aspirations of leaders and peoples of the two countries to achieve more prosperity.  
 
The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi underlined that the relations among the GCC states are strong, interdependent and serve the strategic objectives of the GCC, noting that the UAE, led by the President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, "is working for closer solidarity and cooperation among the GCC citizens in the face of all challenges and threats that affect the security and stability of the region."
 
He added that thanks to their loyal sons, the Gulf states are capable of facing all the challenges with full force, determination and toughness to protect the gains and achievements based on the historical legacy and values of fraternity, solidarity and common destiny.
 
On his part, the Emir of Qatar expressed his delight on visiting the UAE, wishing it further progress and development under the leadership of Sheikh Khalifa, stressing that the relations between Qatar and the UAE are fraternal and strong, based on kinship, love and cooperation. He added that the two countries are keen on promoting and developing relations in all fields to serve the common interests.
 
The two sides stressed during the meeting the importance of working to strengthen the solidarity and unity of Arabs in the light of the challenges facing the region, and to support all the political and security efforts to maintain the security and stability of Arab countries, promote the development process and serve the aspirations of their peoples.
 
At the conclusion of their talks, they also stressed the depth of the fraternal ties that bind the two countries and vowed to ensure the development of relations in all fields as well as to continue coordination and consultation regarding all issues of concern in order to achieve their interests and serve the march of the GCC.
 
The meeting was attended by  Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister,  Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy National Security Advisor,  Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, Ali bin Hammad Al Shamsi, Deputy Secretary General of the Supreme National Council, Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Executive Affairs Authority, Mohammed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Under-Secretary of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court, and Saleh Mohammed bin Al Ameri, UAE Ambassador to Qatar.
 
On the Qatari side, the meeting was attended by Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al Attiyah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, President of the Qatar Olympic Committee, and Fares bin Rumi Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Ambassador of Qatar to the UAE.

Receives President of Iraq's Kurdistan Region

General Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, received Masoud Barzani, President of Iraq's Kurdistan region, at the Majlis of Qasr Al Bahr Palace.

Welcoming Mr. Barazani and members of his delegation, Gen. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed expressed the UAE's keen interest in bolstering fraternal relations with the Republic of Iraq.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways of promoting relations between the UAE and Iraq's Kurdistan Region in areas of common interest with a focus on economic aspects.

President Barazani expressed his delight at visiting the UAE and praised the outstanding relations between the two sides.

He also praised the UAE for supporting Iraq's Kurdistan Region in various fields and backing the Region to address the challenges of sheltering refugees in several cities.

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on the overall developments in the region and a number of issues of mutual interest.

Present at the meeting were Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Western Region; Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation; Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior; Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan Chief of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court; Sheikh Khalid bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Zayed Higher Organisation for Humanitarian Care & Special Needs (ZHO); Sheikh Sultan bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Transport Department and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority; Ali bin Hammad Al Shamsi, Deputy Secretary-General of the Supreme National Security Council; and a number of senior officials.
