Khalifa, Mohammed congratulate UAE team

Sheikh Khalifa receives a letter from Sheikh Sabah al Ahmed al Jaber al Sabah, Emir of Kuwait (WAM)

The President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has greeted the UAE Olympic Football Team, the coach and technical staff for qualification of the team to the final football competitions of London Olympic Games 2012 in summer.

The UAE Olympic Football Team beat on Wednesday the Uzbek host in Tashkent 3/2 in the final six round of the second Asian group.

Sheikh Khalifa lauded the historic achievement attained by the UAE football team for the first time to Olympic Games.

"We are confident that this feat will further motivate you to score more victories in the London Olympic competitions in summer. The victory is part of the victories being scored by our teams in different sports and competitions," the UAE President said.

Sheikh Khalifa commended the efforts of current and former Presidents of UAE Football Federation for their huge efforts in preparing the team to achieve this major and historic victory.

Khalifa receives letter from Emir of Kuwait

President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has received a letter from Sheikh Sabah al Ahmed al Jaber al Sabah, Emir of Kuwait, dealing with brotherly relations, the latest regional and international developments as well as matters of common interest.

The letter was delivered to the President by Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Kuwaiti Minister of Amiri Diwan (court) Affairs and Envoy of the Emir of Kuwait this afternoon at Al Rawdha Palace in Al Ain City.

President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan asked the Kuwaiti Minister to convey greetings and best wishes of good health to the Emir of Kuwait.

The Envoy of the Emir of Kuwait who concluded his short UAE visit was seen off by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, Assistant Minister of the Presidential Affairs Minister, Ahmed Juma' Al-Za'abi, Secretary General of the Federal Supreme Council Affairs, Hamad Abdul Rehman Al-Medfa' and Ambassador of Kuwait to the UAE Salah Mohammed Al-Ba'ejan.

Present at the meeting were Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President's Representative, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, Sheikh Omar bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, Sheikh Khalid bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of Etihad Airways, Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Assistant Minister of the Presidential Affairs Minister Ahmed Juma' Al-Za'abi, the Kuwaiti Ambassador, sheikhs and senior officials.

 

Mohammed bin Rashid congratulates UAE team 
 
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, congratulated the UAE Football Olympic Team after qualifying for the London Olympic Games 2012 after defeating Uzbekistan 3-2 in the Uzbek Capital, Tashkent.

Sheikh Mohammed lauded the historic achievement which has been realised for the first time.

Sheikh Mohammed urged the team to put on more effort to make more gains in the London Games.

Sheikh Mohammed called Yousef Al Serkal, the interim Chairman of the UAE Football Association (UAE FA), praising the historic football success.

Al Serkal dedicated the sports victory to the generous leadership, government and people of UAE for their national stance and support for the team.

He also thanked Sheikh Mohammed for ordering a plane to carry the team from and to Uzbekistan where the match was played .

General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, congratulated the UAE Football Olympic Team for qualifying for the London Olympic Games 2012.

The UAE beat Uzbekistan 3-2 in the match played at the Uzbek Capital, Tashkent.

During two telephone calls with Yousef Al Serkal, the interim Chairman of the UAE Football Association (UAE FA), and coach of the team Mahdi Ali, Sheikh Mohammed appreciated the victory, the first for the UAE, thanks to support and care lent by the wise leadership under the stewardship of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan for raising the UAE flag a loft at international sports championships.

Sheikh Mohammed lauded the high performance and dedication the players showed to achieve the honourable victory, He also urged the players to exert more energy to have a better performance at the London Games.
