Mohamed, Jordan king discuss relations

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan held talks in Abu Dhabi today which centred on bilateral relations and ways to enhance them, as well as regional and international issues of mutual interest.

Present were Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Adviser and Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs.

Sheikh Mohamed welcomed the King of Jordan and his accompanying delegation and praised the strong fraternal relations between the two countries.

The two sides discussed the strategic relations between the UAE and Jordan and means to enhance them in a way that will achieve their common goals and future vision. Also discussed were a number of current issues.

At the end of the talks, the two sides expressed delight over the level of bilateral ties and the mutual interest in improving these. They also reiterated the importance of boosting Arab joint action to confront the risks and challenges and to contribute in boosting regional security and stability and to propagate values of tolerance, understanding and peaceful co-existence.
The two sides also emphasised the importance of international cooperation and coordination to stand up in the face of extremism and violence and to combat terrorist groups.

In attendance were Ali bin Hammad Al Shamsi, Deputy Secretary General of the National Security Council, Mohamed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Under-Secretary of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court, Lt. General Hamad Mohamed Thani al Romaithi, Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces and Lt. General Juma Ahmed Al Bowardi Al Falasi, Military Advisor to the Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
