His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Tuesday took a tour of the 21st edition of Dubai International Boat Show, being held at Dubai International Marine Club (DIMC) - Mina Seyahi from March 5-9.
Exhibitors from more than 49 Arab and foreign countries are showcasing their best of class boats and yachts of mixed uses at the region's biggest and most prolific marine leisure exhibition.
Sheikh Mohammed viewed some luxurious super yachts being displayed for the first time in the Middle East. He commended the significant growth in terms of participation by local, regional and international boat manufacturers.
As he interacted with exhibitors, Sheikh Mohammed indicated that the marine event had been playing an instrumental role in stimulating marine navigation and cruise and leisure tourism in the UAE, which boasts of serene and pristine beaches that attract amateurs of diving, fishing and other marine sports.
More than 780 exhibiting brands and companies are participating in the show with 126 new exhibitors at the show for the first time this year.
Mohammed received Finland's Premier
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, received Prime Minister of Finland Jyrki Katainen at Al Zabeel Palace on Tuesday.
Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Technology and Media Free Zone Authority, attended the meeting.
During the meeting, Sheikh Mohammed and Premier Katainen exchanged views on the current situation in the region. They also discussed relations between the UAE and Finland and ways to enhance them, especially in the areas of innovation, knowledge economy and water technology.
Sheikh Mohammed welcomed the expansion of cooperation and exchange of expertise between the two countries, especially in the areas of innovation and knowledge, stressing the keenness of UAE on establishing ties with countries worldwide.
The UAE Vice President received an invitation from Finland President Saul Niinisto to visit Helsinki. Sheikh Mohammed accepted the invitation.
For his part, the Prime Minister of Finland expressed willingness of his country to open new channels for cooperation with the UAE in all levels in the light of the surge in trade between the countries, which stood at about at $500 million.
He praised the progress of the UAE, citing the-state-of-art infrastructure and road network.
The meeting was attended by Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister for Cabinet Affairs, Sultan Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy, Mariam Al Roumi, Minister of Social Affairs, Mohammed Ibrahim Al Shaibani, Director General of the Dubai Ruler's Court, Lt. General Musbeh Rashid Al Fattan, Director of the Office of the UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, Khalifa Saeed Suleiman, Director General for Protocol and Hospitality in Dubai and Finnish Ambassador to UAE Ilkka-Pekka Simila.

Mohammed receives GCC education ministers
Sheikh Mohammed received on Tuesday at Zabeel Palace the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) ministers of education on the sidelines of the meeting of GCC Arab Education Bureau.
The meeting was held at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
During the meeting, Sheikh Mohammed welcomed the GCC education ministers from Saudi Arabia, Kingdom of Bahrain, Sultanate of Oman, Kuwait and Qatar, wishing them success in their meetings to develop education in the GCC states.
In attendance among others were Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Humaid Al Qattami, Minister of Education.
The UAE Vice President hosted a lunch banquet in honour of the GCC ministers. Present were sheikhs, ministers, senior civil and military officials and dignitaries.
