President orders release of 973 prisoners

President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has ordered the release of 973 prisoners who had been serving different jail terms, on advent of the Holy Month of Ramadan.

Sheikh Khalifa pledged to settle all the prisoners' financial commitments resulting from their court cases.

The release comes as part of the President's keenness to give the inmates a chance to resume new life and ease suffering of their families.
