Sheikh Hamdan opens Govt Achievements Expo 2011

Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, opened on Monday the Dubai Government Achievements Expo 2011, organized by the Government of Dubai on December 19 and 20 at Dubai World Trade Centre.

The expo, in which about 25 government departments and institutions will participate, is aimed at maintaining the culture of excellence and its dissemination gradually. The exhibition is held for the first time in order to highlight the leadership qualities of the government of Dubai in various fields, which has led to excellence and innovation. It will also highlight the achievements, services and projects of all the government departments and institutions under one umbrella.

Being staged under the theme ''Local Government and Global Achievements'', the two-day event provides a fitting platform to showcase diverse achievements of Dubai Government, promote its world-class services, network with customers and bolster Dubai's leading position.

The exhibition is seen as a major contributor to meeting requirements of Dubai strategic plan 2015 which mainly seeks to maintain sustainable development and Dubai's prestigious standing worldwide.

Abdullah Al Shaibani, Secretary General of Dubai Executive Council and Chairman of Dubai Government Excellence Program (DGEP), said the exhibition embodies the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai and Sheikh Hamdan.

''The event aims to reach out to clients and hear their feedback and needs,'' he added.

The opening ceremony was attended by Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Aviation Authority and Chairman of Emirates Group, and a crowd of chairmen of Dubai government departments.
