Sheikh Mohammed meets UAE's Happiness and Positivity officers

The UAE, under the wise leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, succeeded in embedding the values of happiness and positivity, while turning aspirations into tangible achievements, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has said.

Sheikh Mohammed made the remarks today while meeting 60 Chief Happiness and Positivity Officers (CHPOs) from various federal and local entities, along with a group of children representing different schools in the UAE.

Sheikh Mohammed was accompanied during the meeting by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai; Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai; Lt General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior; Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs.

Other dignatries included Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and the Future; Hussain bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, Minister of Education; Jameela bint Salem Al Muhairi, Minister of State for Public Education; and Ohood bint Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of State for Happiness.

Sheikh Mohammed cited the stability and welfare of Emirati society as one of the top priorities that government builds on to realise a coherent, positive and happy society.

He lauded the progress made in implementing the national happiness and positivity programme.

"We, in the UAE, believe that people's happiness is a renewable and sustainable asset and an indicator for a positive and coherent society.

"We also believe that the job of any government is to level the ground for building human capital, enabling people to adapt to rapid changes and to come up with solutions to all challenges," he said.

Further, Sheikh Mohammed told the CHPOs: "Each person possesses a positive energy and, the real leader is the one who can provide the right environment for that energy.

"Your responsibility is to utilise the tacit knowledge of your teams and to strengthen positive interactions for all to engage in, spreading happiness and positivity.

"Your government is relying on you to contribute in making the Emiratis the happiest people in the world."

Additionally, Ohood Al Roumi made a presentation focusing on the 'happiness and positivity in the eyes of UAE children's initiative'.

Sheikh Mohammed added: "Every day, we grow more proud of the UAE children, who give us hope for a brighter future. Happier and more positive children are capable of making a better future for their countries."

The initiative is being organised by the national happiness and positivity programme, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC) and Dubai Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA).
