Tourism shapes economy: Mohammed

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has said the UAE attaches great importance to the travel and tourism business.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, said on Thursday that the UAE attaches great importance to the travel and tourism business which is an integral part of the country’s strategy to build a sustainable economy.

“The UAE’s travel and tourism business has been built by focusing on high standards, which is why the country enjoys a high reputation regionally and internationally,” Sheikh Mohammed said.

“This vital sector not only shapes the country’s economy but also provides us boundless opportunities in new markets and strengthens our trade links with the outside world,” said Sheikh Mohammed.

“Since its inception, the Emirates Group has played a vital role in turning the UAE into a prominent international aviation hub, connecting east with west and north with south. The group’s presence in more than 70 countries and its multi-national cabin crew cement the UAE’s position as a dynamic nation, linking people all over the globe.

“The group has succeeded in maintaining a strategic perspective that allows healthy competition, respects the free trade policy and balances between its plans for expansion, need for profitability and sustainability. Thus, the Emirates Group is an ideal corporation that continues to aspire for higher standards,” said Sheikh Mohammed.

Results of federal strategic initiative to be announced on Monday

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum will announce the results of one of the federal strategic initiatives on Monday.

The announcement will be made during a press conference organised by Cabinet Affairs Ministry at Godolphin Hall, Emirates Towers Hotel.
