The website of Iran's state television is reporting that the Iranian death toll from the Saudi Haj disaster has risen to 464 pilgrims killed.
Thursday's report saw the death toll rise dramatically — almost doubling — from the previously reported death toll of 239.
It wasn't immediately clear how this would affect the overall death toll in the disaster.
Saudi Arabia has said that 769 pilgrims died in the Sept. 24 stampede near Mecca — the worst disaster to strike the annual Muslim pilgrimage in a quarter-century. Saudi authorities say they are investigating what caused the crush.
