Lanka's Queen of cinema ‘Dubai Malini’ is looking for you

She is dubbed the Queen of Sinhala Cinema, but these days Malini Fonseka is busy scouting for the next Queen and King of Lanka showbiz. What’s more, the scouting, according to informed sources has been going on in Dubai.

Malini is behind the talent show ‘Rata Viru Talent Star’,  and the Sri Lanka press has been agog with reports that the politician has recently spent a lot of time in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, where she is promoting the show under the name ‘Dubai Malini’.

Given that the movie star is also a Member of the Sri Lanka Parliament (with the United People's Freedom Alliance), the Sri Lankan consulate in Dubai was tightlipped about her being the emirate.

“If she is here, she is here on a strictly personal visit,” a consulate source told the website.
Some of the reports claimed that she has declined invitations to local events because she is busy in Dubai promoting the talent search.

So if you are Sri Lankan (or even just talented) and fancy yourself as a singer or dancer, make sure you find ‘Dubai Malini’ or at least Malini, the next time she is in Dubai.
