Mounted Police back on streets of Abu Dhabi

The Mounted Police force has resumed its operations in Abu Dhabi, following a 10-year hiatus, according to Mohammed Khalfan Al Romaithi, Commander General of Abu Dhabi Police.

Al Romaithi said at the relaunching ceremony that the force will begin operations with 300 mounted policemen, with 60 riders patrolling different areas of Abu Dhabi, and the rest to be deployed gradually in Al Ain and the Western Region.

"The force will contribute in supporting emirate's other police forces tasks of fighting crime and ensuring security and safety of the community members," he added.
