'Music addict' students run over by train

Two young girls who were returning home after attending a party at night were run over by train last week, ‘Hiru Gossip’ reported.

The two youngsters with earphones were listening to music when passing over a railway crossing.

Onlookers were helpless as they could not distract the girls who walked past quickly and were run over.

Both were school students.

Schoolgirl ends life after failing

A 16-year-old schoolgirl committed suicide by hanging in her room as she failed in her exams, ‘Lanka Hot News’ reported.

Reportedly, she expected to get good marks and was disheartened on seeing her results.

She had passed only in five out of the nine subjects.

Tuition teacher mysteriously killed

A 60-year-old tuition teacher, who has been living alone, was found dead in her house by neighbours who alerted police.

Her hands were tied back and the body had bruises, ‘Mawbima’ reported.

Forensic report says she died of strangulation.

Neighbours grew suspicious when her telephone rang non-stop and she was not answering it.
