A farewell to worshippers…

A young Saudi mosque Imam (prayers leader) who had led worshippers at a mosque in the Gulf Kingdom for three years bade them farewell and flew to Malaysia to study. A day after his arrival, he was killed in a car crash.

The 22-year-old man had also preached young local worshippers at the mosque in the capital Riyadh before he decided to leave the Gulf Kingdom at the end of Ramadan after obtaining a scholarship to study engineering.

“A day after his arrival, he was killed in a road accident while on his way to complete his registration at a university in Kuala Lumpur,” the Saudi Arabic language daily Sabq said on Wednesday.

“He had just bidden farewell to relatives and other worshippers…all the people who had known him were grieved and shocked by the news of his death… what consoles them is that he was a very pious man who had memorized the Koran and had devoted himself to the service of his religion.”
