American on the run for liquor smuggling

Kuwaiti police launched a manhunt for an American man accused of smuggling alcoholic drinks into the Gulf emirate after two accomplices were arrested, a newspaper said on Sunday.

Police detectives, acting as customers, seized an Egyptian and a Pakistan in Kuwait City as they tried to sell them four liquor bottles for KD270 ($918), 'Alqabas' Arabic language daily reported.

They told the police that they work for an American man who pays them KD15 per every sold bottle. “Police raided the American man’s house and found a large quantity of liquor smuggled into Kuwait…the man was not at home and police are still searching for him,” it said.
