Bahrain has sent troops to Aden to join a Saudi-dominated Arab coalition and national allies in ensuring security in the liberated city following the return of Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, the coalition spokesman has said.

“A Bahraini force has arrived in Aden…it will participate along with the other coalition forces in supporting security and stability in the city,” Brigadier Ahmed Asiri told the Saudi news network Alarabiya.

He did not mention the size of the Bahrain force deployed in Aden, here the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Sudan have troops. The other coalition members are taking part in naval patrols or air raids against the Iranian-backed coup rebels in Yemen.

President Hadi returned to Aden from his temporary residence in Riyadh on Tuesday and officials said his return is final. They said he would oversee military operations launched by the coalition and national army and resistance to quell the coup and liberate all areas in the conflict-battered Arab country.
