Civil defence rushes to save cat

Saudi civil defence men rushed in large force to a two-storey villa in the Gulf kingdom to rescue a cat which was caught in a small pit on top of the building.

The civil defence vehicles hurried to the villa in the Western Red Sea town of Jeddah after receiving a call from a man saying that a cat was mewing in such a “horrifying and incessant way” that he believes it was in distress.

“The civil defence men deployed their ladders and climbed to the top of the villa, whose owners were apparently away….they found the cat stuck inside a pit and pulled it out safely,” the Arabic language daily Sabq said.
