Doctors remove girl’s teeth by mistake

A little Saudi girl who went into the operation room at a Saudi hospital for a tonsillectomy surgery woke up to find her tonsils removed-and her upper teeth.

Her father said he was shocked when he visited his daughter just after the operation at a government hospital in the capital Riyadh.

“When I asked the doctor, he simply said there was a medical error and that it often happens,” Hamad Al Araja told Sabq newspaper. “When I protested, they returned her to the operation room and fixed a bridge in her mouth.”

He said he had sent a letter to the Ministry of Health and would file a court suit to seek damages for his nine-year-old daughter.
